Insula camerata, Live by music!
Insula camerata
Insula orchestra, orchestra in residence at La Seine Musicale (Boulogne-Billancourt), was founded in 2012 by the conductor Laurence Equilbey, with the support of the Hauts-de-Seine Department. Its creation was driven by a clear vision: to rediscover the original vitality of musical pieces and perform them in the most authentic way, through historically informed performance practices. To this end, Insula orchestra has chosen the use of period instruments, and its repertoire spans from the Baroque period to the Romantic era.
Aiming at sharing its expertise with a new generation of professional musicians, Insula orchestra is launching a professional integration program focused on historically informed performance: Insula camerata.
Over two seasons, young academy musicians will have the opportunity to play with the musicians of Insula orchestra and to perform concerts as Insula camerata at La Seine Musicale (Boulogne-Billancourt, France) and on tour.
Application window now closed.
This project is made possible through the support of Groupe ADP.

Do you meet the profile?
Do you play on period instruments?
Insula Camerata is intended for young instrumentalists beginning their professional careers, graduates of European conservatories or recognized international schools, who already have experience with period instruments.
Insula camerata will bring together 32 musicians: 20 string players (violin, viola, cello, double bass) and 12 wind players (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet).
The academy musicians will be committed for two seasons: 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 (3 to 4 projects per season).
