Our transmission mission
Our societal involvements
Although being on stage and performing in front of spectators is our core practice, striving to engage all audiences in music discovery is what drives us forward.
Our involvement in inclusion and transmission is built around two strands:
– Cultural and educational activities, run since 2012 throughout the Hauts-de-Seine department. Whether they are aimed at schoolchildren, audiences with limited access to culture, or open to all without exception, they form a complete and innovative project that ranges from raising awareness to collective creation, by way of hands-on practice.
– New artistic formats to discover classical music differently. Freely available on our website and social media, our videos shed light on the repertoire in an innovative and playful way: discover period instruments with Insula orchestra’s Penguins, unravel the secrets of music history with Music Investigation, or go behind the scenes of our staged creations with our Making-of series. Comics spotlight women and men composers, while virtual reality invites you into the very heart of the orchestra for unprecedented immersive experiences. Another way to listen to, understand and feel classical music.
« Transmission and easier access to music have always been at the heart of my musical project. I greatly value youth and sharing: I wish to share all that I have learned, and I strongly believe that a musical piece can inspire society and change someone’s life. »

Help us reach these audiences!
Together, let’s share classical music with everyone.
The Insula orchestra – Laurence Equilbey Foundation supports our initiatives in inclusion, transmission, and arts education. Your donations are essential to help us share the joy of music with as many people as possible, encourage its practice, and make it accessible to audiences who are distant or vulnerable.
