Composed for the orphan girls of the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, where Vivaldi was choirmaster, the Gloria conquered the world with its virtuosity, sensual colours and vocal power. Hervé Niquet will magnify these qualities by doubling his usual number of instrumentalists and singers. In addition to this brilliant score, he will revive other works by the “Red Priest”, both sacred and secular, with his ensemble Le Concert Spirituel.
