As Easter approaches, the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra invites us to experience the absolute monument of Bach. The St Matthew Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach stands as one of the highest achievements of Baroque art. This grand fresco unfolds over nearly three hours of music of unmatched dramatic and spiritual intensity.

It sets the Gospel narrative of the Passion of Christ according to Saint Matthew, alternating recitatives, arias, and vast choral ensembles. An absolute monument of sacred music, this timeless work offers at each hearing an experience of rare human depth.

Under the direction of Jarosław Thiel, the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra restores to this monumental architecture all its clarity and original fervour.
