Creation commissioned by accentus & le Choeur de la Radio Lettone
Conducted by Sigvards Kļava, accentus tackles one of Rachmaninov’s greatest religious cycles: the Vespers. Written in 1915, this sumptuous composition for mixed a cappella choir bears witness to the musician’s Orthodox faith and his attachment to the Russian liturgical tradition. This pillar of the accentus repertoire is accompanied by a commissioned composition by Israeli composer Sivan Eldar.
