À propos
Mozart in Paris.
To close the season, Laurence Equilbey conducts Insula camerata: the orchestral academy that Insula orchestra founded in 2025 to pass on historically informed performance practice on period instruments to a new generation of young musicians—32 instrumentalists from 12 nationalities, aged 18 to 30.
On the road to Paris, the ensemble follows in Mozart’s footsteps. First, a stop in Mannheim, where the composer wrote his Flute Concerto No. 1: a virtuosic and refined piece, entrusted to Anna Besson, whose diaphanous tone and sovereign phrasing unfold all its grace.
Then comes the arrival in the capital. Mozart composed the Parisian Overture No. 2 and the Symphony No. 31 “Paris”, conceived to dazzle with its scope and brilliance. Interventions by the Ballet Preljocaj Junior accompany this itinerary, extending the orchestra’s energy into movement.
An evening that celebrates both Mozart’s genius and the future of historically informed performance—carried by a generation of musicians at the start of a great adventure.
This concert is performed on period instruments.
