A new production by the Opéra Comique in collaboration with Insula orchestra and accentus, Médée returns to Paris in its original French version. Cherubini sets to music the drama of this ancient heroine, repudiated by Jason and plotting her terrible revenge, in a comic opera that uses only the form of this genre.
It’s a subject worthy of stage director Marie-Eve Signeyrole, renowned for her extreme productions ‘of a deeply moving strength’, under the baton of Laurence Equilbey for five exceptional performances.
