À propos

With its world-famous “Hallelujah”, The Messiah is without doubt Handel’s best-known oratorio. In this vast fresco, written in only three weeks in 1741, the composer signs a profoundly original score on the destiny of Christ. In it, sacred music achieves the theatricality of an opera. Its subtle symphonic writing and sumptuous choruses make it ideal material for accentus and Insula orchestra, conducted by Laurence Equilbey.
