À propos

French and Italian Baroque women composers emerge from the shadows in this program that reveals inventive and moving music, performed by a trio of passionate virtuosos.

It goes without saying that the Baroque era in France was not the most conducive to the emergence of female talent. Nevertheless, Élisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Mademoiselle Duval, and Mademoiselle Laurent managed to bring their writing from obscurity to light. Violinist Sophie de Bardonnèche has taken a keen interest in these and other women composers, dedicating herself to rediscovering previously unknown scores. This unique repertoire, enriched by works from Italian Baroque women composers, will be performed by an outstanding trio of chamber musicians.

This concert is interpreted on period instruments.

This concert is produced by the Hauts-de-Seine Department and Insula Orchestra.
