À propos

Brahms and Schumann offer an intimate vision of Romanticism in this a cappella program—an art in which accentus excels. Under the direction of Kaspars Putniņš, the choir unfolds all the richness and depth of these pages of rare intensity.

Kaspars Putniņš, artistic director of the Swedish Radio Choir, leads the ensemble accentus through a program of gems from the Romantic choral repertoire. The deep admiration both Schumann and Brahms held for poetry from an early age, as well as their immense literary insight, surely explains how they achieved such perfect symbiosis between poetry and music. With the stroke of a pen, they enter the poetic hearts of their contemporaries—poets like Heine, Rückert, Eichendorff, and Goethe.

This concert is produced by the Hauts-de-Seine Department and Insula Orchestra.
