À propos
Bach and Vivaldi in all their glory with four exceptional harpsichordists. Virtuosity and energy run through this jubilant program, where the harpsichord becomes an orchestra all its own.
For this grand keyboard celebration, four major French harpsichordists—across generations—come together around Vivaldi and Bach. Bach’s rarely performed concertos for multiple keyboards transport us back to the time when he directed the Collegium Musicum of Leipzig, a group of professional and amateur musicians. Bach, who drew great inspiration from Vivaldi’s musical education, borrowed several of his concertos. But here he performs a true metamorphosis: Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins becomes Bach’s Concerto for Four Harpsichords. A unique evening not to be missed!
This concert in interpreted on period instruments.
