À propos

To mark Chinese New Year, La Seine Musicale is celebrating the Year of the Horse by inviting the China National Traditional Orchestra (CNTO), conducted by Muhai Tang.
A poetic and festive journey, combining ancient heritage with contemporary creations.

Traditional music and contemporary compositions interact in this programme, which highlights the richness of Chinese music. The China National Traditional Orchestra, which for over sixty years has brought together some of the most renowned musicians of their generation, performs this repertoire under the baton of Muhai Tang, a leading figure on the international scene.
Alongside the ensemble, three remarkable soloists showcase iconic Chinese instruments: Tang Feng on the erhu (two-stringed fiddle), Zhang Jiali on the guanzi (bamboo oboe) and Dong Xiaolin on the pipa (plucked string lute). Their visit is a rare opportunity to hear one of the greatest traditional Chinese orchestras in the UK.

A warm celebration to welcome the New Year in a spirit of festivity and sharing.

The works will be introduced by poet Ruling Zhang through poems by Xin Qiji, Li Qingzhao, Li Longji, Liu Zongyuan, Jidi Majia, Cai Xiang, Wang Anshi, Chi Le…

Before the concert, reserve your Chinese brunch and discover the programme during a presentation at 3:00 pm.

The introductory programme is organised with the support of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Paris.

This concert is produced by the Hauts-de-Seine Department and Insula orchestra.
