Bach and Telemann illuminate this anniversary evening under the baton of György Vashegyi. With Baroque brilliance and choral fervor, a concert of contrast and splendor.
Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Johann Sebastian! The Orfeo Orchestra and the Purcell Choir celebrate Bach with a program of cantatas composed exactly 300 years ago! In this repertoire of boundless richness, Bach reveals his highest inspiration—”for the glory of God alone”—and for the greatest delight of our ears. These masterpieces are mirrored with works by one of Bach’s close friends, Georg Philipp Telemann, from the same era. An evening under the guidance of two great masters of sacred music.
