À propos
In 2019, Gallant Indies choreographed by Bintou Dembélé set the Opéra Bastille ablaze, causing a shock wave for an entire generation. For La Seine Musicale in 2025, this emblematic choreographer, a major figure in France’s hip-hop movement and a fixture on contemporary stages, revisits Rameau’s opera-ballet and takes this project even further.
Together with a sparkling vocal ensemble – including Julie Roset, winner of the Operalia Competition, Mathias Vidal, who was part of the Bastille adventure… Bintou Dembélé makes Rameau’s music burningly topical, with the protest power of the dances meeting Baroque harmonies.
This concert is performed on period instruments.
A coproduction by Cappella Mediterranea / Structure Rualité / CAV&MA with Insula, invited to La Seine Musicale and the Maison de la Musique in Nanterre. The performance is inspired by the production of Les Indes Galantes staged at the Opéra National de Paris in 2019. This concert is produced by the Hauts-de-Seine Department and Insula Orchestra.
