Portrait of Laurence Equilbey

A portrait of French conductor Laurence Equilbey. Renowned for her demanding, yet open-minded approach to her art. Her exploration of the symphonic repertory has seen her conduct the orchestras of Lyon, Bucharest, Warsaw, Akademie für alte Musik Berlin, Hessischer Rundfunk, Gothenburg and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and the philharmonic orchestras of Brussels, Liège, Leipzig and Frankfurt. She regularly conducts the Orchestra of the Opéra de Rouen Haute-Normandie and works as an associate artist of the Grand Théâtre de Provence; she is also a companion of the Philharmonie de Paris. Laurence Equilbey founded Insula orchestra in 2012, an ensemble devoted to the Classical and pre-Romantic repertory, using period instruments.
