Orlando Furioso / Vivaldi
⚠️ CAUTION ⚠️ The curfew applicable as of October 17th and forbidding any exit after 9 pm forces us to arrange our next concerts. However, we are very pleased to announce that we are keeping Orlando Furioso – Vivaldi on the following schedule: 4:30 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2020.
Inspired by Ariosto’s epic poem, Vivaldi wrote a three-act opera for the Teatro Sant’Angelo in Venice: Orlando furioso. The leading counter-tenor Max Emanuel Cencic, in the title role, is accompanied by the Armonia Atenea ensemble for a concert version of this bijou of the baroque period on an epic scale, where the story of the madness of the hero, Roland, becomes intertwined with warfare and the charms of the magician Alcina.
