This programme pays tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach. The Sonata for solo violin and basso continuo, rare in his extensive output, displays all the composer’s ingenuity in chamber music. His passion for the violin, one of his instruments of choice, explodes in the Partita n° 1 in B minor, where virtuosity is matched by intensity.
